Statement on Cultural Equity

To provide education for all, The Fred Tjardes School of Innovation commits to championing policies and practices of cultural equity that empower students to build a just, inclusive, and diverse community.

  • Ensure all families have fair access to enroll at our school
  • Make sure our students and staff represent the diversity of Greeley
  • Treat all students with dignity and compassion
  • Actively engage all voices in the classroom and community
  • Focus on the growth of our students as learners and individuals
  • Create a safe space for all reaces, gender identities, orientations, ages, abilities, religions, and wealth statuses
  • Improve diverse representation in decision making bodies
  • Demonstrate that we are anti racist and will actively confront racism
  • Actively engage in public and private-sector policy that promotes cultural equity and systemic change

Definitions

Cultural equity in education - the values, policies, and practices that ensure all people are represented in the development of the education system, the support of learners, the nurturing of accessible spaces for expression, and the fair distribution of resources.
